Astrology for the week of January 14-25, 2024

On January 14^th, Venus in Sagittarius will quincunx Uranus in Taurus. This can make emotions go all over the place. That is because Venus wants love, but Uranus wants independence. Life can feel uncertain, and this can bring up anxiety making us question if we can count on those closest to us. On one level we don’t want to be smothered but on another we want and need stability and safety. This is the moment when we must look at how our need for excitement and new things might actually be an avoidance of deeper intimacy and an underlying fear of commitment. But this energy channeled properly can allow a great spark of creative genius and allow a type of magnetism and charisma to make you feel popular and entertaining. If you are single, just notice that you might lean towards people that are unusual and perhaps a bit risky.
Also, that day Venus in Sagittarius will trine the North Node in Aries. As Venus obviously represents our more sensual and feminine side, love, pleasure, and sentiment is high on our list. The Moon’s Nodes connect us to our subconscious and what we are being directed to lean into. The North Node inspires our more conscious motivations and how they help to shape our personal psychology. This aspect often attracts very good things, and it can feel as if there is harmony coming into our reality. Relationships smooth out and seem to go well for a time. We are more diplomatic and seem to move more generously. Social patterns can feel progressive and help us move in new directions. The integration with others seems to benefit us in new ways.
January 15^th, Saturn in Pisces will semi-square the North Node in Aries. Saturn is a planet that shows us where we are still restricted and limiting ourselves. Its intent is to bring meaning to our lives by showing the boundaries and that we must commit fully to gain the greatest rewards. Do not let Saturn’s restrictive nature pull you into isolation. It is time to stop clinging to the past and instead see that opportunities await if we have the courage to leap. The North Node in Aries intends to challenge Saturn’s former proposed limitations. And that is a good thing.
And on that same day, the Sun in Capricorn will sextile Neptune in Pisces. Intuitive knowing and our sensitivity is greatly enhanced under this aspect. Today is perfect to visualize that dream of yours and allow that feeling to boost your confidence and self-esteem. This can allow you to feel satisfied with the direction in which we want to head.
January 17^th, Venus in Sagittarius will quintile Saturn in Pisces. Today is great to listen to your favorite songs and allow your personal style to be expressed. Certain things can seem to capture your attention, so just be careful that you are not turning a creative gift into an obsession. Appreciation needs to be balanced with what we have to do in the real world.

January 18^th, Mercury in Capricorn will sextile to Saturn in Pisces. This aspect today gives us the ability to think things through and we have a strong sense of who we are and what we want going forward. Business dealings can go very well, and it is perfect to sign contracts and make agreements. If you are looking towards a long-range plan, common sense is very strong. Remember to be honest and transparent in all communications both personally and professionally. Today we can study something and really feel as if we are able to remember it and understand the underlying meanings.
January 19^th, Venus in Sagittarius will biquintile Uranus. This can be a very fun and humorous day. Perfect for watching sports and routing for your favorite team. Bring others into the mix and make it a fun experience. A potluck and sharing with those you love can make this a perfect day.
January 19^th, Mercury in Capricorn will trine Jupiter in Taurus. Seems things are looking up. Optimism abounds, and good news is coming our way. If you need to figure something out and do research. Today is the perfect day to attempt that. If you feel so inspired, organizing and cleaning things up can gain great headway and quickly. This aspect also loves to take a trip. Even short ones are a way to open our minds and allow us to see things from a different angle.

The same day, Venus in Sagittarius will square to Neptune in Pisces. We look at our past and can see where we were not quite loving ourselves fully. Today is the day to proclaim that you are good enough. We are asked to cultivate our inner mature adult and to learn to nurture our inner child in constructive ways that matter to him or her. We can have a very active dream state, and we might be able to tap into images of past lives and finally understand how those past moments are still playing out in our lives now. Just recognize the difference between fantasy and reality, from what we wish to be happening and what is happening. Just remember that all forms of disillusionment are an opportunity for our soul to be liberated from the karmic chains of our past selves so we can begin anew.

January 20^th the Sun in Capricorn at 29 degrees will conjunct Pluto in Capricorn at 29 degrees. Then we have Pluto moving into Aquarius till September 1^st, 2024.
Here we are! We made it to the moment of powerful change. This is a big day and one for the record books. What we move towards may be an enormous unknown, but it demands from all of us that we do better. A new light is going to shine upon all things that have been hidden and it will show us what now needs to be addressed. Expect big announcements! If we learned anything while Pluto was in Capricorn, we clearly saw the dysfunction of hierarchies, governments, and institutions. We are clear how much is not working. But Pluto in Aquarius calls us to find new ways to unify. Life is trying to find a new way forward. There are major lessons ethically and morally for us to deal with. We must look past the narcissism of so much self-focus and instead ask what is good for our society and the global population. A cry for change has begun and it will intend to tear down and demolish systems that refuse to support the people.
As Pluto goes into Aquarius, its ruling planet, Uranus will turn to move direct, rekindling a more adaptable and flexible mindset. Radical transformation is at hand. For some it may feel as if we are being shot out of a cannon.
January 22^nd Mars in Capricorn will quintile to Neptune in Pisces. Just a reminder, Mars in Capricorn is exalted. Meaning that it loves to be in this place. It practically guarantees success. Those dreams might just be possible. In this moment you can take on something and shift direction and you will feel as if the wind is in your sails and there is nothing stopping you. It is time to roll up those sleeves and get moving. Now is the time. Seize the moment.
January 23^rd, Uranus in Taurus will semi-sextile the North Node in Aries. We have now a change to embrace our more daring nature. Our mind is ready to leap past fear and our old tight mindset. We long for change and want to liberate ourselves from the past. Mentally we have the where-with-all to see the opportunities being presented. Just remember to stay true to your personal values because our choices will have long term consequences. It is time to become that spiritual warrior. The one who has the rebellious power of a revolutionary but the heart of a saint.
Then with Venus at 0 degrees Capricorn it will semi-sextile to Pluto at 0 degrees in Aquarius. Seems it is time for our concepts of love to shift with the expansion of our desire to serve humanity more than our selves. Love is showing us that we need to evolve into a more compassionate form for humanity and the world to survive. Those ready will feel this urgency and leap onto that train. Those still attached to their pain from the past may feel as if the train is leaving the station without them.
January 24^th the Sun in Aquarius will quintile Chiron in Aries. The fire and the air aspects work in harmony and move us towards healing many of the terrible rifts that have happened over the last decade. We know that many of these changes will take time to fully happen, but we are at the beginning of that shift and we know that we have what it takes to find those paths.
Then that same day, Mercury in Capricorn will quintile Neptune in Pisces as well. Allow that childlike wonder to inspire more magic and awe. Creative expressions are strong today and allow us to appreciate the potential that exists deep within.
January 25^th, we move into a Full Moon in Leo. The showy and dramatic Moon is a perfect ending to this powerful month of January 2024. Since the New Moon in Leo, August 16^th, 2023, we have been being asked to evolve from a yelp into a roar. Pluto the God of the Underworld at zero degrees and the forceful Leo Full Moon are telling us that it is okay to roar about the terrible things happening in our world. It is okay to embrace that what dies will be reborn. It is impossible to experience death without some forms of fear. We are here to live and thrive, but no birthing process is without pain. Each process is a form of a sacred initiation. Today, we are all bringing something into this world from the other side or from other dimensions. While Pluto is intense, Leo is also a lioness. In Ancient Egypt she was the goddess of War, Sekhmet. But she was also the Goddess of Motherhood, and she was the Sun. We are asked to shed the old so we can see and finally embrace our authentic self. Many will not know what that might look like and that is okay too. Pluto asked us to walk across hot coals … and we did. This Moon asks us to befriend our trauma and then nothing will stop us. We are learning to balance our present with our future. Who we are on the inside is enough. Now is the time to show that to the world.
