Poem – Goddesses

Mankind makes goddesses out of stone.
They grasp at magic that they want to enthrone.

But goddesses surround them that they do not see.
The feminine is everywhere in life exquisitely.

Man wants to make a goddess rigid and hard.
But also something that over time they can discard.

Within each woman is a light that is divine.
And she will come out when she is allowed to shine.

Mankind wants to pay their respects in order to get a goddess’s favor.
But when that does not happen their devotion does waver.

That is why goddesses hide in plain sight.
They wait to see who is awake enough to see the light.

A goddess does not want a pedestal to stand upon.
She wants to feel safe from darkness till dawn.

She wants to feel this life as full as she can.
She wants to taste the sweetness and dance a cancan.

Because goddesses are the essence of life itself.
She has no desire to be put up on a shelf.
