Poem – I Believe I Know What Love Is
I believe that the roots of a tree, love the soil.
They dive in deep … as they twist and coil.
I believe that the cup loves the warmth of tea.
It entices hands to wrap around it with glee.
I believe that ocean waves love the shore.
After endless movement, they can finally roar.
I believe that the flower loves the bee.
It entices it with sweet things and colors it can only see.
I believe that the tadpole loves the creek.
It begins its life enjoying this watery mystique.
I believe that humans love a roaring fire.
An ancient wonder that always inspires.
I believe that bodies love to feel the wind and rain.
It is good to get the mind to let go of the pain.
Duality asks opposites to bump and caress.
Because life is a process to help us reassess.
Love comes in many forms and flavors.
Just as the window opens us to life’s many favors.
Where are you generous, like the rainbow in the sky?
Does your love extend beyond your own eye?
Can you live your life, patient like a book?
Knowing you have a story, if one will just look?
Are you helpful like the shoes on your feet?
Are you willing to give speed … to the athlete?
Love is all around, we just forget to see.
That it is everywhere in life’s grand prix.
