Astrology for December 18, 2024

The Moon still is playing around in the joyful sign of Leo. Things seem possible and we are now in a very new place to observe things from a fresh perspective.

The astrology this month seems to have many on edge. We can blame a lot of things for this, Pluto newly in Aquarius, Mars retrograde in Leo. Uranus at the end degrees in Taurus, and Neptune at the end degrees of Pisces. There are of course many more to point out but then we get bogged down in minutia that can start to feel mentally taxing.

So, for the sake of brevity, let’s just say that the choices right now should be more subtle. Everyone and everything are on an edge. Tempers are short, people are ready to snap, and many are feeling tense and strained.

The Sun and Neptune will square and it can feel as if we are walking on quicksand and not certain if in taking that next step we are going to get stuck in a quagmire. Many feel lost and uncertain. We know we need to regroup but something always seems to need our emotional attention and so we end up getting dragged back into things we had hoped were finished.

The best use of this square is to take a spiritual journey. I can hear all of you rolling your eyes and inside saying, “Oh sure Suzanne! Right before the busy holiday season with family, you want us to figure out a way to escape and have the time and money to drop in on a spiritual level! Ha!”

I know it sound ridiculous but now is a better time that as guests are arriving.

Things feel confusing and that adds to that feeling lost. Boundaries are blurred and we just are not sure what choices to make to allow for a better flow and experience. That is because we are moving through the murky waters of Neptune, and we are not going to easily see the path ahead. I expect we are going to have to learn to feel the path instead.

It is essential to follow the joy. It is helpful to notice what is inspiring to you and allow that imagination to run wild. What is clear is the current path just does not feel enough. Situations feel more draining than engaging.

If you have found something inspiring, it can feel like leaping on a fast-moving train. Exciting, slightly dangerous, and at least it gives our mind a centered place to focus.

The trick is that while we are launching into a direction, we still have responsibilities that also demand our attention.

Today, take a pause and at the very least go for a quiet walk in nature, meditate, or go do something for yourself … such as getting a massage. Give your body a chance to find a new place to stand. Give your mind a break. Give your soul a moment to remember what is most important to you personally.

If you can do that, then the path ahead will feel less confusing and exhausting.
