Weekly Astrology for December 1-7, 2024
There is plenty to work with right now. We have lots changing and planets continue to move backwards and others finally move forward.
Mars going retrograde on the 6th or 7th, depending on where you are on the planet is the big news. It promises a fiery path ahead for the next 6 months.
Neptune finally shifts into going forward also on the 7th.
And Venus goes into Aquarius late on the 7th.
We are to learn that there is safety in the places inside that are asking to change. While the external world continues to be unsafe, this week is about finding those things that give you a sense of safety internally so that you can keep going no matter what the world is doing.
December 1st, there is a New Moon in Sagittarius, Moon squares Saturn in Pisces, and the Moon will trine to Leo
This New Moon in Sagittarius is in opposition to Jupiter in Gemini. This is the perfect time to make a list of what it is you want to accomplish and to dig a hole in the earth, purify the ground in a sacred way and to place that list in the hole and set it on fire to release those wishes out to the universe. Setting the intention for what you want 2025 to be for yourself is more important than ever. This New Moon has a power that can carry you for a long time if you are willing to do a bit of work to let that happen. Even setting the intention perfectly will require you to find courage to face the oncoming storms and to persevere in ways that will show you how committed you are, especially when you are so far out of your comfort zone.
December 2nd, The Moon goes into Capricorn
Things take a more practical and yet serious turn. We move towards a realistic viewpoint, and it seems a few things need to be done to get things in gear. This is the moment to do that and to check those things off your list.
December 5th, Mercury will Cazimi and the Moon goes into Aquarius
The clarity you have been seeking is going to be finally coming into focus. The key is to keep things in a progressive way and to move from a place that aligns with the needs of the community. We open to a more humanitarian way of being and we learn that while our focus is sharp it is important to not use it against others but for the greater good.
The Moon wants to have independence and a better connection first with ourselves and only then to move into a more collaborative way with others.
Remember, to consider the viewpoints of others. Stay open and allow you to find a way to connect but to allow wiggle room for discourse.
December 7th, Mars begins its six month retrograde in Leo, and the Moon goes into Pisces, Neptune will end its retrograde cycle, and Venus goes into Aquarius
Mars is fire, Leo is fire. A six month retrograde in so much fire is very rare. This one will feel as if all our old ways that have given us comfort are no longer there. It can cause a sense of alarm for some … motivation for others. Expect this to be quite a ride. I would suggest for each of us to step away from the drama as this is a period designed to trigger the weak minded and to collapse those that do not have the coping mechanisms. Acting in bold and brash ways during a Mars retrograde will be a very bad idea. That is because you cannot see where you are going, and you don’t know what is around the next bend. This is an opportunity to shift perspectives because you cannot change what is going to unfold. Mars is a planet that puts the actions and choices in our hands and laps. Because Mars is a planet that is closer to us, many things feel deeply personal. That is why moving from a place that is honest and is aware enough to know when to move and when to stay still is going to be essential.
With the Moon in Pisces, we may feel a bit more sensitive than we want. Know emotions are still running high and we need to expect others are feeling that as well.
With Neptune coming out of its funk, we begin to dream once again, we have a place where our imagination seems to want to run wild once again. And we are feeling more connected to our core, nature, and the new emotional boundaries that are necessary for sanity going forward.
Venus will go into the more detached sign of Aquarius and that helps us explore who we want to become and where we really belong. What I love about this Venus in Aquarius cycle is that we seem to need to move in the direction of finding ways to give freedom to others in a way that allows for the diversity of our world and the focus to coexist. We begin to recognize that it matters not if others see our value, we must see our value regardless of prejudices and upsets. This Venus in Aquarius will conjunct the newly positioned Pluto in Aquarius. This connection asks us to take a moment and decide how we want to define the next 19 years of our reality. It matters not what the world is doing but it will matter greatly the steps you decide to actively take.
