Poem – Dubrovnik
In Dubrovnik’s ancient streets I tread,
A city where history’s tales are spread.
Through old town’s winding, cobbled lanes,
I found a place where beauty reigns.
Beneath the sun’s warm, golden embrace,
I stroll along the ancient city’s grace,
Where red rooftops shimmer in the light,
And history whispers through each stone’s might.
Amidst the hustle of the bustling bay,
Multimillion-dollar yachts in grand display,
They gleam like jewels upon the sea,
A testament to opulence and luxury.
But amid this opulent coastal show,
A different beauty begins to glow,
For in the hearts of those who dwell,
Kindness and warmth, they surely excel.
The people of this ancient land,
Extend a welcoming, caring hand,
With hearts as vast as the Adriatic sea,
They share their peace and hospitality.
In Dubrovnik’s old town, I’ve found,
A place where past and present are bound,
Where yachts and history coexist,
In harmony, they both persist.
So, as I walk through this historic space,
I’m embraced by Dubrovnik’s warm embrace,
A city of contrasts, both rich and fair,
Where peace and opulence fill the air.
