Poem – The Changing of the Season into Fall

The weather darkens and the clouds begins to cry.
The season’s change and we tell summer goodbye.
The winter calls everything to hunker down.
Snow is coming as the leaves float to the ground.

Listen to the softening of the light and the earth.
All of life seeks comfort and a warm berth.
There is a shift in the mood as the night gains more sky.
Some want to read books and others need to sigh.

The rush and hurry of the summer’s sun.
Becomes a memory complete with all the fun.
I know that life calls for us to go deep.
That is why we all suddenly need more sleep.
