Poem – Israel/Gaza October 2023

Children murdered in their homes.
Mothers, daughters lost and alone.
Evil lurks and justifies terrible things.
Religions keep men like puppets on strings.

We watch in horror as part of the world again turns to ash.
Bombs go off as two sides horrifically clash.
We watch, wait, and wonder what will be next.
Lands bloodied for centuries continue to move towards an apex.

We know that this will create another terrible toll.
As some intend to gain more land to control.
They believe that they fight for what is right.
When we all need to learn to instead protect all life.
