To have a cup of tea in an ancient and timeless place.

To sit in the quiet and feel its ghostly grace.

Buildings have a soul, and their heart continues to beat.

Ancient places allow us to feel whole and complete.

That is because our memories hold our hearts to those timeless ways.
They are portals to places that help us appraise.
Sometimes we go to lands that are from our genetic past.

And those moments help us integrate at last.

The ancestors come to us from times far away.

And we get to celebrate their journey and how we have found our way.

Back to the roots of what was our home.

While we did a journey to allow our hearts to roam.

All we have to do is look to things that awaken our senses.
Nature allows us to drop our defenses.

We think that the self is our soul … but we are mistaken.
Our soul is the part that wants to awaken.

The self is what our ego tells us we are.
That is why the dance with “others” will take us very far.
When we learn that what we think … is of little worth.

We bring our attention back to this earth.

It is our home, and it is where our soul can rest.

Focus on the beauty and give everything else a rest.

I have lived with conviction my whole life.

I see those in power use confusion and strife.

To split the minds with pettiness and thoughts incomplete.

They destroy “potential” in the confused and meek.
That is the agenda of those with power and wealth.
They do it with total disregard and stealth.

Find that conviction deep within your soul.

Never give it away to those that want control.

I am committed to what is right and good.

I will never do what I am told or what I should.

Not if my soul knows that the paths of others are wrong.

And never if I cannot hear in their words, in their heart’s song.
