Right now, you are a gemstone in the rough.

Trying to figure out … if you are enough.
Covered in the karmic mud of ancient lives.

Forgotten in the darkness that you embraced … to disguise.

That beautiful light that is hidden within.
That one that others told you was a sin.

But that is because their light got shattered in false belief.

And now they seek your light to find relief.

Don’t ever give your light away.

To someone who sees you as something to flay.

Give it to those who will take such a great gift.

And use it to inspire and to others lift.
That is the best way to let that light shine bright.

And then it will come out of the mud with great delight.

Being “good” is what another wants.

Then they can control us with a label that haunts.

We want to fit in because it seems a wise strategy.
It allows us to blend in with their blasphemy.

I am not “good” in the ways that define what others want from me.

I am magnificent, wild, and frightfully free.
Being “good” makes one fit in.

But I would rather be able to live inside my own skin.

Not hide behind the rules and laws.

Of those that do not think beyond their own paws.

Too many have no higher awareness that brings hope.

They live within “Survival of the Fittest” in order to cope.

But that will not allow their soul to evolve.
Nor will it ever allow their sins to resolve.

There will always be snakes hiding in the grass.
Appearing brightly like stained glass.

But they are sharp and their words will cut.
What they speak is poison, even if they strut.

Listen with your heart because it has a shield.

It can protect the soul because it is made of Valerian Steel.
Live from a place that gives hope … life.

Never give energy to those who intend strife.
