Poem – Krammy (Andrei Kramarevsky)

Poem – Krammy (Andrei Kramarevsky)

His smile was so bright it could light up the room.

His mood was infectious and would make everyone swoon.

He loved to teach, and he loved to dance.

He was a character that inspired us into the romance.

That romance was his love of ballet.

A love that he expounded in endless displays.

The emotions that he expressed through grace and power.

Were what we looked forward to in his special hour.

Those hours we spent sweating and straining in class.

Were worth the satisfaction that came at last.
He made us feel good about trying something new.

He made us believe that in his class … we flew.

He saved my life on that terrible day.

When I did not believe that I would find my way.

Into the world of professional dance.

I feared that my life would end if I did not advance.

Into the company that I did so desire.

But he made a call and helped me acquire.

The job in Berlin that carried me away.

From New York, even to my hearts dismay.

But my life as a dancer did not that day end.

It was his belief in me that allowed me to ascend.

To the heights that I did manage to reach.

And it was all because of the many things that he did teach.
