Today being a number 4 … gives us that much needed break from the dramas that seem to want to constantly threaten our inner peace. Sometimes we just have too much going on. When that happens, we cannot rest or find that elusive center. Today is the day to reclaim that center because we have had a chance to pause.
I find it does not take much to do that. Just placing oneself in a different environment, with different food, and allowing ourselves to really rest, sleep in, and dream deeply can often be enough to discover what will allow that shift to happen naturally.
The body, mind, and emotions really love homeostasis. We are not designed to constantly be rushing. This world has seasons to remind us to slow down and go inward just like the plants and animals. The world is constantly trying to teach us about tempo and balance.
But humanity is gifted and cursed with a mind that loves to dream, wonder, create, and figure things out. It loves to problem solve and improve things. The minds natural restlessness is something that can be a gift and curse. It is a gift because when channeled properly, it can manifest amazing and wonderful things. It is a curse because it has problems learning how to slow down and allow pauses.
In the pause lies our hidden potential.
In the silence we can find great things that were hidden until we learned to allow them space to come into the light.
In the quiet, we remember that we have so much more than we believed.
And in those places of peace and tranquility we rediscover the greatness that continues to enliven our spirit and fuel the passions of this life.
