Today is the Number 5 can become stubborn and resist the changes that are now necessary. This is a number that can stomp its feet and be very demanding to get what it wants. It can make us more impatient and lead us towards more conflicts. It holds a type of impulsivity that can lead one to not reveal the whole truth and break agreements.

All the above patterns unfold … if one has not had the chance or the intention to heal oneself. After all, this is the number of Chiron, which is the wounded/healer/teacher.

This number is the reminder that great teachers do not evolve from easy situations or lives. Great souls awaken from the trials and traumas of fully engaging with life. Wisdom does not mature from hiding and taking the easy path. Wisdom comes from those that are brave enough to face what is beyond their experiences and those that have stepped off the designated paths of society and instead took their own twisted road.

Yes, the great teachers of this world have laid out maps for us to follow and tools for us to utilize. That is why the number 5 is called, “The Good Red Road”, or the shamanic path. But what worked for one will not work for everyone.

That is why each of us will come to a fork in the road. On one fork we can choose to follow the paths that worked for others and that feel safe because we have a tribe or a community upon which to depend. We are not alone. We are part of a group, and that feels safe.

The other fork is a completely unknown path. It is our personal path. A path that requires us to be fully responsible for our choices and our actions. A path that gives no guarantees and offers freedom over safety.

In every life, we will have multiple times where we come to this fork in the road and the universe is testing to see if we are ready to be bold and brave or if we still cling to the familiar and the words and beliefs of others.

Maturity requires you to leap past the rules and into the fires of change. But just beyond that fire (that burns away your ego), is your true self beckoning you to risk it all to remember who you really are.
