1 + 6 = 7

Today is the Number 7 asks us to look at what we really need and want. We live in a world that exacerbates our weaknesses. We look for “things” to make us happy rather than do the hard inner work that allows us to find contentment and inner peace. When we find that place of center inside then the actions and choices of others matter less. When we are content we do not feel a victim to the world’s problems and actions. But being “at one” with who we are, also requires us to pay attention to what the outer world is doing and instead move from the place that we understand that we have power if we stay awake and aware.

We continue to move towards a world that requires more self-reliance and personal responsibility. Systems that used to protect us are going to fall apart and that will require us to take certain steps to keep ourselves safe and happy.

This is where the number 7 becomes so important. We have to have the capacity to see what is coming to plan for what will be needed. We need to learn that the mindset of our ancestors was not a bad one in that they looked to the seasons, learned to plan, plant, grow, harvest, and prepare.

During times of crisis, those that recognized ahead of time, what was unfolding, knew to have food storage and ways to grow things. Personal gardens kept many from starving. Learning self-reliance is a powerful lesson. Because when you know you have the intelligence and capacity to do what is necessary, then situations become less frightening and more of a process to take responsibility.

The number 7 reminds us that we have the intelligence to think things through. It reminds us that in many cases it is up to us to find the doorway through difficult times.

And when we learn the power and potential that is inside, then life becomes more of an adventure because external pressures will seem less of a test and more of a choice that we are already prepared for.
