6 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 16

1 + 6 = 7

The number 7 reminds us that when we have a plan, our mind calms down and we feel as if we have more control. Of course, that is an illusion but there are moments when anything that helps to calm down the chaos of the mind is a helpful thing.

Minds love to run circles and try to look from the worst-case scenario. But many of us learn that if we are prepared for the worst case, then the worst case almost never happens. And just the process of planning gives the mind something to do, and that distracts it from its more destructive tendencies.

I find that journey to find ways to productively work with the mind while not allowing it to wallow in the endless mazes and loops from the past that cause such consternation is a real trick.

This is where this number 7 is also associated with our daily work routines. Often doing our job is the perfect distraction from all our minds negative traits for a time. When we focus on a task then for those moments we cannot get trapped in the places where our fear lurks and waits for a moment to capture us and ensnare us in its pattern.

So today, befriend the mind and decide to take some constructive time to understand the nature of this beast. And then learn to work with it but to not give it mastery over one’s dreams or one’s soul.

Put plans into action, not from the place that you think they will absolutely happen, but from the place that will allow us to feel calmer and less reactive. And for today, that might be enough.
