Poem – At My Gate
I watch the rain continue to fall.
It reflects the mood of this monumental squall.
We will find a path through … after the flood
But right now we see only more rain and mud.
Inside we feel like culverts filled with debris.
Upsets continue to mount and many want to flee.
But where can one go when the world turned on its head.
Things are upside down and many just want to go to bed.
We are here to witness the horror that lives in mankind.
It is painful to see how many do not know they are blind.
So as the rain pours down … I let my tears fall.
But I embrace the storm and listen for the call.
Because all storms will eventually abate.
And those with a heart will find me at my gate.
