Poem – Enjoying the Sublime
The fog has rolled in, and the season is beginning to change.
The change in the weather reminds me that I am at home on the range.
I live in a place that is wild and free.
The animals feel safe, and we all agree to just be.
I have my rules and boundaries and so do they.
But we manage to respect each other and find how to interact and play.
The mother deer have their babies on my land.
The baby boy deer that get pushed out still feel this is a safe place to stand.
The ravens are the sentinels and tell everyone what is going on.
They wait for their breakfast in the treetops at dawn.
It is a simple life but I feel more connected and true.
I am a part of this reality and at times I am the glue.
They come here because I have created a safe space.
They know that I will share and feel they have a place.
Together we will move from one day to the next.
And while at times things can get quite complex.
There is a natural order to this reality, and we all fall in line.
We are here to share what we have and to enjoy the sublime.
