Poem – I Am Enough
I understand the Buddhist teachings that life is suffering.
But it is so much more.
I have been told by Lama’s to pray very hard so that the next lifetime I will be a man.
Only to have them shocked when I say that I love being a woman and I don’t want to be a man.
I have danced on the greatest stages in the world, and I have loved every excruciating moment to get there.
I have listened and been on stage with the greatest opera singers of my time and felt the power move through them making goosebumps on my skin.
And I would never want to be anywhere else in those moments.
I do not fear suffering, because I understand it is a tool of this reality to tear away ego and discover something magical underneath.
This life in linear time is but a blink in the eye of the divine.
I am idea and hope from the heart of God seeking to find meaning and purpose to existence.
I am the spark that I must keep alive and expanding.
I am the light that I seek.
I am the creative potential and passion that reaches out to discover how much more there is.
I am enough and I am perfect in this moment and I would not want to be anywhere else.
