Poem – Life Is A Gift And Not A Chore
Today I am tired and feel into the flow.
I have a full day of work and that is a positive go.
But right now as I wake up to this new day.
I look forward to a moment to just get away.
I am off to Utah in a few days.
To hang with some friends and be in the Mormon maze.
But it is an easy flow that I am very comfortable with.
After decades of living in the domains of Joseph Smith.
I love Utah for its peace and amazing landscapes.
I will temporarily trade my redwoods and seascapes.
It will be nice to touch what I once considered my home.
It was a place to heal, grow, and learn how to roam.
And for a time, I believed that I would never leave.
But the universe had something else up its sleeve.
I have learned that everything in life must be let go.
Life is about discovery and learning how to flow.
I did not know that a great love would take me away.
It was hard because California has a very different sway.
But after over a decade of being here in the great trees.
I have become a part of this place and can flow with the breeze.
I will miss my home, but I will be back.
I hope touching Utah will get me back on track.
Sometimes we just need to touch in with our past.
Remember those things that continue to last.
Be with our friends that allowed us to explore.
And remember that life is a gift and not a chore.
