Poem – The Climb

Yesterday morning I awoke to the wind.
Barreling through the trees, goosebumps on my skin.

The force of nature took my breath away.
As it danced through the trees in a demonstrative way.

Nothing will stop the wind that is to come.
We have much to do and many don’t know where they will run.

I am here to learn to go with the flow.
Even when a storm is coming, that is familiar and that I know.

I took a walk, and a great redwood was down.
Its fluffy leaves were scattered along the ground.

A sacrifice to the forces of nature and wind.
Even a redwood can be asked too much to bend.

Do you feel like that redwood that used to stand straight and tall?
Do you feel unprepared for what seems destined to fall?

Life will always throw us some massive curves.
The kind that makes us pull on all our reserves.

That is why today, remember to clear a path.
Then afterwards enjoy sitting in a warm and fragrant bath.

It is time to do the work but to not forget to play.
Remember what matters and let your heart find the way.

You were built for this amazing time.
The weather is reminding, that it is now time to climb.
