Poem – The Crone

The Crone looks out through magical and clear eyes.
Eyes that discern the difference between wisdom and lies.

She knows that what she sees is the path that must be traversed.
Life is about being willing to embrace the best and the worst.

She knows that her path is straight and true.
She has made the mistakes and knows the path through.

She does not offer to some … what cannot be heard.
Sometimes truth is a smile rather than a word.

The Crones in our world see the folly of young souls.
Those that believe power and wealth are the goals.

She knows that with the passage of time.
Experiences push the soul beyond comfort and into the climb.

The paths all lead to challenge and change.
Wisdom is not offered without a fair exchange.

Wisdom requires us to surrender up what we had.
We learn to embrace all we are … both the good and the bad.

Bad things happen to show us how deep we can go.
There is great beauty in the places that we do not know.
