Poem – Truth Is Learned With My Own Two Hands
If one really listens to the world, you will really laugh.
At the choices people make … that create an aftermath.
I love to sit in a park and watch people go by.
I listen to their conversations and occasionally roll my eye.
The way some minds are programmed is based on their beliefs.
They reveal the thoughts that dominate and are the current chiefs.
I listen to people talk importantly about many things.
Like they are the authority and that gives their ego wings.
But the wings of an ego can never really help a soul fly.
Truths not integrated by experience will forever fly on by.
While the mind believes it can grasp what is true.
Until it is embodied it is just a philosophical stew.
Such a stew cannot feed the soul.
Inspiring the mind is its only goal.
But our body and soul want to live … not just think.
Some use the mind to put the soul into the clink.
While I love my mind, I learned to tame it long ago.
Because while it can analyze … it doesn’t really know.
To know something … means that a truth has become a part of our being.
Most people live their life like they are just sightseeing.
While that might be interesting … one never learns about the culture or the charm.
I would rather get my hands dirty and learn how to work on a farm.
Truths that are learned with my own two hands.
Are something I can take with me to many foreign lands.
