Poem – Tsunami on the Way

We live in a world of give and take.
But there are those who intend to make the masses ache.

I watch in wonder at the movie that unfolds.
It is a pattern that is ancient and very old.

One would think that we would learn from our mistakes.
Especially when the safety of the world is only one of the stakes.

Humanity is a mass of egos that love to fear.
They listen to the powerful who put bugs in their ear.

Just like in the Wrath of Khan.
The bug is a parasite that turns good people into pawns.

After learning these lessons so very long ago.
I know enough to allow the chaos to flow.

One cannot stop a tsunami on the way.
And currently we cannot keep the lies at bay.

Each soul will have to learn what such times mean to them.
But this is a difficult time to be a person of color or a femme.

Grab your popcorn and get ready to watch this moment unfold.
What is clear is that those in power intend to break the mold.
