Poem – Weathering the Storm

I look for courage out there … and I find very few.
Many wonder if we are going to make it through.

Remember that our ancestors weathered terrible times.
And they were also the victim of very hateful crimes.

Each generation must learn to weather a storm.
The problem now is that it seems to have become the norm.

But storms will come and eventually go.
The problem is that it is the timing we do not know.

We buckle down in order to brace for a long haul.
We are horrified at those that hold such hateful gall.

It is incredulous that there are so many that cannot see.
That what someone presents is not how they will let it be.

So here we are … and the storm has come.
There is nowhere to go and nowhere to run.

Prepare to plant that garden so you have what you will need.
Learn the ways of plants so you do not waste seed.

Make enough so that you have more to share.
Many are not prepared and even more do not really care.
