Poem – Creating Dance

In the world of ballet, where grace and strength collide,

The challenges faced are not easily denied.

At SAB, seriousness fills the air,

As dancers strive to make the impossible seem fair.

No room for whiners, no place for complaints,

Responsibility is demanded, no room for constraints.

Each dancer pushed to reach beyond their zone,

To conquer the hard things, and make them their own.

Ballet, a unique art form, constantly shifting and changing,

Exploring new edges, always rearranging.

Just as musicians seek new sounds and rhythms,

Dancers seek release, where they’re movement brims.

Every body has its own natural flow,

There is a beautiful uniqueness that dancers show.

Watching bodies move, in their own organic style,

Is a sight that always makes me smile.

Music, is a dancer’s inspiration and guide,

It allows them to explore, and to move with pride.

Composers and musicians, with their magical touch,

Transport us to places that mean so much.

Ballet, a tool to develop muscle memory and more,

To maximize moments of inspiration, and allow us to soar.

We venture into the unknown, with strength and grace,

And hope to create a dance that leaves a lasting trace.
