Poem – Life and Times

 

Life and times.

Suffering and crimes.

Those that take.
Suppress those that make.

 

I am a soul who longs for a world in peace.

I know that some of humanity will never cease.

Cease the violence that threatens and invades.

Cease the arrogance that needs attention and parades.

 

Behind the veils of ego and fear.

I believe are many hearts that are very dear.

They too want to live and create a better world.

While those that hold resentment continue to unfurl.

 

Flags of the past that harbor terror and shame.

Banners of righteousness where everyone else is to blame.

Figures that stand rigidly for heinous crimes.

While the land still dies and politicians two-time.

 

Be angry at what others impose on good men.

Be angry that judges continue to control women.

Be angry that change does not come fast because of cash.

Then take back the power so that what comes next is a blast.

 

We can have a world where the ideals we see.

Can be manifested so we become a world family.

But we have to start now so that we stem the tide.

As our world suffers because of those with too much pride.
