Poem – Walking with Sorrow, Grief, and Lies

I have walked with sorrow, and she never said a word.
Her language is to be felt and not really heard.

She taught me so much when I was willing to see.
That she was that deeper … more real part of me.

I have learned that the deeper the feeling the slower one must walk.
Certain things need time and do not heal when we talk.

Grief requires us to stop along the way.
It asks us to not hurry so you can allow the memories to sway.

Grief remembers what was left undone.
It asks us to let go and to surrender so we can run.

Run to those places that call to our heart.
Because tomorrow is not guaranteed, and now is time to start.

Lying is a place that time cannot heal.
It requires the ego to actually kneel.

Hearts lie to themselves to try to stop the pain.
But only honesty can stop sufferings endless refrain.
