Poem – Love Is All Doorways

I never thought I was very brave.
Most of the time I wanted to hide in a cave.

In the quiet of the dark and the damp.
Was where my heart could finally make camp.

In the shadows I felt at home.
In the outer world I felt so very alone.

In the peaceful places within my soul.
I remembered that I was so very old.

She would be the one to get me out of that cave.
She would not let me be anything but brave.

She knew my human self was fragile with fear.
But she also knew that inside me was something very dear.

A part that could not stay silent in the face of hate.
A part that found courage when standing for something great.

She had a superpower when injustices were being served.
That was her incentive to do anything for good to be preserved.

When my human self … stood up for those being torn down.
She knew that her love was more powerful than a hate filled orange clown.

My spiritual side knew that I had so much to give.
And love eventually dissolves lies as truth will forever outlive.

Love outlives life and death.
Love is the power that fuels every breath.

Love will come in the end to take your soul away.
Love is all beginnings … ends, and all doorways.
