The Venom of this Land

There is a venom spreading across this land.
The toxicity infects those where they stand.

They refuse to move out of fear and pain.
They refuse their own power or allow the truth to gain.

They are being poisoned by the venomous snakes.
Those that gives nothing but only takes.

They think that if they hold still, they might make sense of it all.
But the bite they took only intends them to become a rag doll.

The poison wants the mind to make sense of what is unfolding.
But the longer they wait, the more blind they are becoming.

When you do not move and are frozen in fear.
Then you risk losing everything you hold dear.

I walk away from those who are toxic and unwilling to admit their mistakes.
Perpetuating lies will not help you win a sweepstakes.

Loyalty given out of fear and lack of remorse.
Sets the stage for your lifetimes to be a very dangerous course.

At the end of this life, you will have to face those pearly gates.
And St Peter will make you face your actions and states.

Heaven does not allow in, those who knew better but did nothing to assist.
And you will be required to go back down to address the truth that you did resist.

The hate you denied helped you make choices that caused harm.
And until you find the compassion for that hate to disarm.

You will be trapped in an endless cycle of pain.
You will be required to feel the misery that you used to maim.

And the road back to redemption are lessons that will last a long time.
Because the hole dug in this moment will become an arduous climb.
