Poem – Francine of Besancon
Let me tell you a tale of a woman of light.
She gave all she had without resistance or fight.
She loved one and all, showing us the joy that is the path to her home.
She cared for those that were seeking to reclaim what was their own.
She leaped in with each and every hurdle she faced.
She walked with care, beauty, and grace.
We learned about her through her ancestral land.
She gave us an opportunity to rediscover how to stand.
And now, as I get ready to say goodbye.
I see on the rooftop a beautiful magpie.
She looks at me with thoughtful eyes.
She reminds me that she flies with you in the skies.
While I am sure, this is not the last time we will meet.
I am grateful that you allowed us on this retreat.
Because we each had something to give and something to receive.
And you were the tapestry of love that allowed us to weave.
Our own colors and convictions.
While we navigated our own restrictions.
Know that you are deeply loved and seen for your deep and pure heart.
Know that you are the origin of many new starts.
We love you and are grateful for your presence and skill.
It has been a great honor and a “Magical French” thrill.
So, as we all go our separate ways.
Remember this moment and all of our days.
That we gathered together with our unique approaches.
And know we are grateful for you being one of our coaches.
