The Pope’s Revenge in East Berlin, Germany
Numerology/Astrology for 3/1/17
3/1/17 is the number 5. The number 5 is all about making those life lessons more integrated. The question today is what do you consider to be freedom? Is freedom the energy that gives you choice and the ability to do the activities that you appreciate and that allow you to thrive and be creative? Is freedom the ability to move and travel throughout the world in a joyful exploration of the beauty and gifts of this planet? What will you do for freedom? What are you willing to sacrifice to protect those freedoms? Often, we do not appreciate something until it is taken away from us. The number 5 is a pivotal number. Exactly between the 1 and the 10. You are at a place where you can see the past and see potentially where you are aiming in the future. When you understand that your choices define the true meaning of your life you learn to not make reactionary choices but choices that come from a deep center of compassion and understanding. This number reminds you that it is actions that count in the grand karmic counter of your existence. Intentions feel nice but at the end of the day it is what you do that adds or subtracts from your karmic debt or lessons.
With the Sun conjunct Neptune today, you are much more sensitive to the moods and undercurrents that will happen in your world. Be aware that you will make choices and judgments in a much more instinctual way. You may have a hard time defining what actions and goals you need to do next. Be careful that you do not lose sight of reality. Remember to analyze all choices with your objective reasoning ability. Morals may be seem more fluid and flexible now, as you are attempting to stretch your boundaries. This transit stimulates and enhances spiritual awareness, imagination, and inspiration. The Sun is also parallel Jupiter today, so your positive expectations may open up new opportunities. You may find yourself in a more charitable mood. Mercury forms minor challenging aspects to Uranus and Jupiter (Jupiter and Uranus will form an exact opposition tomorrow), pointing to possible misjudgments, so if you cannot make final decisions today that would be wise. You have little patience for routine and might skip over details in haste. You want to learn new things, not recycle old ideas. The Moon is in Aries all day, and in contrast to yesterday, engages with many planets. A continuing theme of moving forward (with strong Aries and a Jupiter-Uranus opposition) works alongside a theme of slowing down and processing reality from fantasy.

I remember going to East Berlin when the wall was up. I did not realize at that time that my father’s position and connection to our national security might have prevented me from crossing that Checkpoint Charlie border. I was young and naïve. I was excited to go on an adventure and see the Walls of Babylon in the Pergamon Museum. As an American I was used to free passage through countries borders. It was just expected that American’s had sort of an immunity to borders. I had never had troubles and had no idea that I ever would. That is the type of innocent bliss that Americans have but that most in the rest of the world actually do not have. From the time I got to the border of (at that time) East Berlin there were problems. They took my passport, put me in a room with a two-way mirror and watched me for 4 hours. I knew something was wrong. I suspected it had to do with my father but again in my wide-eyed innocent and belief of American invulnerability, I did not understand the seriousness of my situation. But as the hours continued I began to understand the potential nature of the situation. At that time, the East German police were some of the most dangerous in the world and I was caught like a mouse in a trap. After extensive questioning, I was released but not before my German friends (who had easily gone through) were in a full-blown panic on the other side. Even after I got out every hour or so someone came up to me and asked in perfect English, “Miss Wagner, may I please see your passport and visa.” And that went on all day. Eventually, we ended up at the tower in East Berlin that was called, “The Popes Revenge” because in the sunlight there was a perfect cross on it. At the top, there were a lot of students. All of them gathered around me and wanted to know all about American (the land of the free). They asked again and again, questions about how I got a passport and how I got a visa to come here. That was when I realized that for them at that time how incredibly difficult it was for them to get one much less both. I began to see the miracle that America was with new eyes. I saw the freedoms that I took so for granted that were not remotely a possibility for others. I could see the longing it their eyes to be an American and to have those same freedoms. I have never forgotten those moment. And I was very grateful to get out of East Berlin that day and get back to safer territory.
I see those freedoms that I have appreciated my whole life now being taken away. It causes me great sadness to see my country become a totalitarian controlled nation. You should be concerned also. I know what it is like to feel detained. I know how situations can change at the blink of an eye. I know how quickly freedom can be taken away.
