4/9/17 is the number 5. This is a moment to ground back into your life. You may also be more aware of people and situations that are inconsistent, unreliable, thoughtless, and rigid. But others stability or instability does not have to impact you unless you allow it. You have the freedom to change and make choices and decisions for your future that offer many opportunities for yourself and others. Mars rules this number and while it is the planet of war and conflict (which is clearly evident) it is also the planet of energy. What do you choose to do with your precious life? What do you choose to do with the energy you have left in this body? It is time to be a detective inside your reality and discover what is most essential in your life at this time and what is not. Why would you not explore the most amazing elements in your life? You are the greatest mystery and only by knowing yourself can you begin to understand the world and this universe upon which we stand.
On Sunday, the moon moves into Libra to build energy to the full moon on Monday. Mercury begins it “rethinking and renovating” retrograde cycle Sunday afternoon, lasting until May 3. This means there is a bit of overlap with Venus which is retrograde until this Saturday the 15th. Your current values and the way you think about what is important to you are changing. Do yourself a favor and let them! Perhaps it is finally becoming clear how you are being manipulated emotionally and pulled like a puppet in one direction or another. The normal retrograde conversations are still operative-fixing or improving communications and transportation devices is called for as is keeping an adaptable schedule. However, this Venus and Mercury retrograde combination also helps you realign your relationships and shift your values to new ideas and gives you the opportunity to meet new people. While you can enjoy a let-up from yesterday’s tense atmosphere, Mercury’s retrograde station today can confuse matters. As the shift from direct to retrograde occurs, there can be some magnification of problems and difficulties understanding directions and one another clearly. Mercury will remain retrograde until May 3rd. It begins its retrograde cycle in Taurus and then returns to Aries on April 20th. Communication can be tricky, and it can be hard to focus on hard facts. During this cycle, your thinking is turned inward, as you review and re-assess matters. Mercury retrograde periods can be times of heightened inner awareness, when meditation, benefiting from keeping a journal, reworking old plans, and reviewing past work are favored. Minor breaks in the mechanical aspects of communication can re-connect you to other, possibly more meaningful, means of communication. The more difficult times are the periods of the shifts themselves – near where the planet seems to hold still in the sky or stations.

Quote
I have come to realize
that I do not need more drama in my life.
I do not need those whose negativity
overrides logic and rational thought.
Life has enough drama and change in it naturally.
When you need to create more
you are avoiding a painful truth
that is attempting to get your attention.
What we all need in our life
are those that we can rest with.
Those that allow the truth
to just be in that moment
And do not attempt to fix or change it.
We need those whose open hearts
help us breathe.
Whose presence brings clarity.
And whose compassion
brings self-acceptance.

The monks have made it to New York to see their friends and to do Puja’s. It was lovely to have them here. I was in recovery all day yesterday. It was a whirlwind of activity and change, magic and sacred moments. I will be forever grateful. They both were so wonderful, kind, peaceful, and helpful. It was a great gift. The interesting thing happened right at the very end. They had fixed dinner for us (A traditional Bhutanese dinner. It was lovely!), when we heard a huge wind like a roar and a powerful shift of energy. When we went outside a huge tree had crashed across the road blocking the road up to the house which was where all the cars were. I was supposed to take them both to the airport the next morning and suddenly we were scrambling to get the chain saws out (in the darkness and pouring rain) to break up the tree and the road. My poor husband had to work all night because his business right now is on India time which means that he starts work at 10 pm and goes sometimes all night (which was the case that evening). So here we are attempting to break up this huge tree and we get half way but got to the bigger part and the huge chainsaw jammed with the weight of the tree as it began to break. Then it was a new scramble to find someone to drive them to the Airport Shuttle in Santa Rosa late at night. Fortunately, we have the kindest neighbors directly below us and John volunteered to do that early in the morning to get them to the airport to leave. Thank you Ann and John Maglinte for saving us in a desperate moment. Now today we have to tackle the tree. We have to pull out all the other saws and get them ready to help break up this huge tree. At least we have new firewood very close to the house. There is always something positive to discover. I told the monks (who were so helpful) that the land did not want them to leave so the dakini’s pushed the tree down to prevent them from leaving. They laughed.
