Poem – Dancers

Dancers are pushed and pulled.

Shaped like clay into a mould.

We are a willing victim to.

The visions and dreams of those who knew.

Knew what is needed and what a body can become.

They see the depth inside wanting to be plumbed.

If you feel something deep inside.

That must get out and does not want to hide.

And you know that it wants to breathe the air of a stage.

So much that the money does not matter nor the wage.

Because no dancer will ever get paid what they are worth.

There is no amount of money that can be paid for rebirth.

Dancers dance to show others what is deep within.

Under the judgements and the fears of sin.

It shows beauty that is accompanied by pain.

It shows that failure … is its own gain.

It aligns the soul with the hope within.

It reminds us that there is so much more under our skin.

Take this time and allow another to show you the way.

Let them illuminate that there is so much more to display.

Allow the visions that they have learned to become.

Evolve into a place where you too want to run.

I will meet you there on the fields of creation.

And show you the joys, sorrows, and elation.

That are there for those whose heart is strong.

And for those whose soul wants to tag-along.

Because under the magic of the bright lights.

There is great power under those pink tights.

Behind that makeup and that smile.

Is a cunning mind that knows how to beguile.

Dance with her in your mind.

And tonight, as you sleep, if you are so inclined.

In the ethers you can dance with all of us.

And shed that skin that is so superfluous.
