Poem – Plitvice (Plit-Vit-Se)

In Croatia’s heart, a treasure lies concealed,

Plitvice Lakes, where wonders are revealed.

Turquoise waters glisten in the sun’s embrace,

A haven of nature, a magical place.

Carved in limestone, a canyon deep and grand,

Where cliffs and waterfalls enchant the land.

Cascading lakes, in layers they descend,

A timeless beauty, nature’s art to mend.

Sastavci’s roar, a symphony of might,

As Korana River springs with pure delight.

Beneath the falls, its journey takes its form,

In silver cascades, where dreams are born.

Karst waters flow through rocks, a silent dance,

Dissolving calcium carbonate, enhance.

It clings to all it touches, silver and bright,

A layer of enchantment, pure and white.

With time, these waters weave their wondrous scheme,

Creating dams where once it was a stream.

Lakes, cascades, and waterfalls they mold,

In nature’s tapestry, a story told.

Plitvice, a masterpiece in nature’s grace,

A realm where time and water interlace.

Each ripple, fall, and shimmering cascade,

A testament to how the Earth was made.
