Poem – Thanksgiving Warmth

Poem – Thanksgiving’s Warmth

Thanksgiving is a time where we share and care.
We let go of the mundane and climb the stair.

That staircase leads us to the ancestors and home.

In our current life, we wander too often alone.

We come together to laugh and share smiles.

We come regardless of the distance and miles.

We come for that hug that reminds us that someone cares.
We come for the great stories and all the shares.

May this Thanksgiving be one filled with great joy.
Let go of petty grievances and those things that annoy.
Look at each other with our spiritual eyes.
Enjoy the familiar and all the luscious pies.

Time will pass too quickly for some.
Before we know it, we might be the only one.
The only one left that remembers the pieces from our past.
The only one that has the interesting answers when asked.

So, listen to those stories and remember them well.
Remember every nuance, taste, and smell.
Those things matter when they become a part of us.
Family is the greatest story that may want to be discussed.

Remember the flavors that your inner child loved.
Remember those hands that were so beloved.
Remember that life can quickly pass by.
Appreciate it all before you have to say goodbye.
