Poem – The Queens of the Dark

Poem – The Queens of the Dark

There are Queens that live in the Dark.

They are the mist, and they are a work of art.

In the fog by the lakes … they dance till dawn.

They lie in wait for a man to come along.

Such men are in danger when they move towards this lot.

All those that loved true … to men that did not.

They will seek revenge for their untimely deaths.

That happened when their hearts broke in their chests.

And if such a man should wander on their land.

He will find himself surrounded where he stands.

By the ghosts of women whose hearts broke, and they died.

They will inflict pain on this man to feel the tears that they did not cry.

And so the ballet of “Giselle” was born.

So that beautiful women could dance to lost love … so forlorn.

The Queen of the Willis controls all the dead.

She forces the man to kneel and beg.

She wants him to die for what they have suffered.

All her hate explodes and becomes unbuffered.

He fears most … the emotions of the girls.

How they had a dream now lost in the swirls.

Of smoke and fog languishing by the lake.

And Giselle will save one man … from his fate.
