Poem – The Touch Of A Lily
The touch of the lily upon the grave.
Causes the dead to rise up on a wave.
That wave reaches out into the land of the living.
Connecting us and reminding us to be forgiving.
The drops of water cascade down touching the stone.
Tears of the dead seek to touch what is being shown.
The flower says to the soul, “Tell me of death.”
The soul responds and says, “It is the place you never left.”
The lily sighs as the tears silently fall.
And it releases its fragrance as it’s last curtain call.
The dead inhale the flowers last breath.
Knowing that there are those that never forget.
