The marine layer forces me to reflect.

Upon those places of deep regret.

The universe calls to us to walk certain paths alone.

Certain things we must be pushed towards … and at times thrown.
While we fear walking a path without support.

That is because we know that we will fall short.
It is in the quiet places where distraction cannot win.

That we can see where our mind led us into a loony bin.

The mind wants to demand what the soul does not own.

And that will lead us into the places that make us groan.

We groan when we do things that are not honest or true.

We groan when we remember that we did not feel our heart completely through.

We regret things said when we were afraid and lost.

We remember that such moments illicit a terrible cost.
But without those moments we could not be here now.

And without such moments we might still be holier-than-thou.

I am back in the haunts of those times past.

Big moments that stretched me into the spell my mind had cast.

My mind is not my enemy because she has a wisdom too.

She saw the stuck-ness inside and decided to follow-through.

She took a risk that seems crazy and insane.

She took me on a wild ride in order to gain.

Gain perspective and to see beyond my box.

To open my mind and to see my own personal blocks.

She had to break me out and into the real light.

She had to do it in a way that would stop the fight.

The mind knew that there was so much more if I could face my fears.

But to do that … there would first be many upsets and many tears.
As a dancer I learned self-control.

But as a person I needed to be whole.

To be a whole person I needed to shatter the façade.

And allow me to be seen as very human and flawed.

Because we are all here to learn and to grow.
We are here to become one with the meadow.

It’s time to lay ourselves down in the green grass.

And allow what once was … to finally pass.
Into the storm of memories gone by.

And lift up our hearts back into the sky.
The you … you are seeking … is still silently there.

She has just been waiting for you in that place to nowhere.
There she still sits in the tall green grass.

Singing to the wind and watching the clouds pass.
