Quote
Listen and laugh.
Do things on another’s behalf.
Notice what is needed.
And find a path that is unimpeded.
Cover our thoughts with the compassion of the heart.
Never leap forward until love becomes a part.
Of whom we are and where we are to go next.
Notice those things that have the greatest effects.
Then mold the clay of life into something loving and kind.
Because the mind is cruel, but the heart is never blind.
To the suffering that exists still in this life.
Cut away negative things with a sharp knife.
When we come from a place that includes rather that blames.
That is when humanity will finally play a very different game.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and that it is continuing on.
We are off to Spokane today to see the other side of the family.
Thanksgiving was so lovely with my husband’s sister and her family. The food was traditionally fabulous and there are many treasured moments that unfolded in the kitchen.
I think kitchens are the heart of a home. Everyone gathers there and wants to talk, connect, laugh, and create together.
I think you really know who someone is when we cook together. We learn the rhythm and flow of another, and we learn how to blend those energies in ways that allow us to move like a well-oiled machine. We look to what needs to be done and just do that in an organic flow that is special and enlivening.
It was so special to have three women in the kitchen working in unison and Wade (my husband’s sister’s husband) was our extra arms at critical points.
It was also my stepdaughter’s birthday. Every 8 years she has a birthday on Thanksgiving Day and we all tried to do things that made it very special.
I believe we succeeded. And there were smiles all around.
Now, I have to figure out how to pack up the presents that I have brought that need to get on a plane to Spokane. We are borrowing another suitcase so we can manage to (hopefully) fit things in so they get to Spokane in one piece.
I am crossing my fingers that this works out and goes smoothly. I have a few very fragile things that need to be hand carried even though I have packed them as carefully as I could.
Wish me luck.
