Suzanne’s Personal Quote and Blog for 11/28/2022

Quote

In an old photograph I see myself in the family tree.

I am grateful to those ancestors who felt the strong need to be free.

They left their home to reclaim hope.

They traded a bucket for a microscope.

In another land they claimed opportunity.

And even as outcasts they built a community.

They worked hard and took chances.

They payed attention to the finances.
And over time they gained new ground.

To become a part of a country safe and sound.

We made it home last night and it is great to be back in my own bed. My husband is still sick but while he is not terrible and still not covid positive, we are pretty sure it is a bad cold or the flu. That is something that seems to be going around by all accounts.
It is probably best to not expose others to whatever this is.

The cats are happy as can be that we are back home.

There is much to do today as we prepare for the holiday season.
My husband will go out and cut down a small Douglas Fir tree from our property.
It is the family tradition. And then the decorations will ensue.

I want to clean out my pantry and some cabinets to get more space.

And now the gifts I had ready to give my family I will have to box up and mail.
But that is just how it is sometimes.

Hoping everyone is safe and back home from the holidays.
So far, I am still not sick. I am grateful to my strong immune system at the moment. Wishing everyone health over the next month!
