Quote

In my eyes … I see the patterns of my life.

The eyes show all the feelings swirling inside.

The eyes carry the truth in their depth and light.

They show that spark inside that is so bright.
If we look deeply into another’s eyes.

We witness the soul that the mind tries to disguise.

They are a powerful mirror that looks past form.

Eyes can witness the confusion and scorn.

From lifetimes of effort, failure, and luck.
And those moments where we were thunderstruck.

Eyes keep some out, and let others in.

Eyes can inspire or can become someone’s deadly sin.
We want to fall into another’s eyes.

We want to merge with those that empathize.

The eyes are a miracle so that we can see in this domain.
And eyes allow others to witness with wonder that we contain.

Natures Sentinels

There are faces in nature that protect magical places.
Within nature are faces that hide in secret spaces.
And I love to look for them as I wander in nature.
The patterns in wild places have their own nomenclature.
There are faces in the bark of trees.

There are faces in the patterns of leaves.
There are faces hidden in the cliffs.

When one slows down, we can discover many gifts.

The older the trees … the more the faces appear.

Some have a smile and others … more austere.
When I discover that face, I stop to talk.

Nature has great wisdom to share when we are not on a clock.

Nature speaks in a domain beyond human time.

The speed of our minds makes us miss out on the sublime.

I love the voices that come from the stones.

They are ancient and have answers to unknowns.
The birds always talk to the trees.

The sentinels show the flowers to the bees.

They are the guardians of sacred spaces.

And hide many ancient races.

There are things that we are not yet ready to know.

And that is why the sentinels refuse to show.

All the wisdom that they carry still.
Or those treasures hidden in the ant hill.
Some will live an entire life through.
Never seeing the faces in the bamboo.

That watch and wait while time moves slowly ahead.
They wait for those with the wisdom of the riverbed.

Only then will some secrets be passed.

To those that know how to holdfast.

To what nature has tried to teach.
And in one moment we may feel a sentinel reach.

Out to our mind and into our heart.

And that is when the greatest mystery will start.
