We have had a breakthrough of sorts. Coco the calico mama cat has decided that I am okay. Now it seems that she cannot get enough attention and pets. She let me pick her up and put her on my lap while I sat outside at the picnic table.
Yippie!

We all need love and want to have another to connect with.
So many of us live our lives without the basic support that can make life easier.
Animals are there to remind us to have a compassionate heart.

I marvel at how long it can take some to trust. And I understand completely why that is so. When concern, care, and trust were often previously offered, it may have been just a lure for someone to gain an advantage that ended in someone being harmed.
Once we are burned, we become more careful and cautious.

And especially for stray cats that live in a world filled with bears, foxes, cougars, and other things that want to kill and eat them, that fear is very justified.

We all learn to protect ourselves in various ways. Some are completely valid.
Some have to be unlearned to let others in.
Some need to be released completely in order to grow.

But for today, there is growth in the area of trust for Coco. And that changes her world in ways that allow love to be let in.

I believe that that makes the divine and Mother Earth very happy.
