Quote

Nine mice search for a way.

Past the cat and towards that buffet.

While they tippy toed quietly around.

The cat opens her eyes to their tiny sound.
They see her staring back at them.

They know what comes next is mayhem.

As fast as they can, eight seek to hide.
The cat gives a yawn and stretches her backside.

After all it is good to stretch.
Before the game of mouse fetch.

But the mice too know the game.

They do not plan to stick around, all the same.

And off they skitter in a great rush.

Over the books and into the brush.
They look for any place that they can be safe.
And get as far away from that cat’s face.

Mouse number 1 is smart as can be.

He just keeps running in order to be free.

Mouse number 2 is quiet and still.
And got behind the vase on the windowsill.

Mouse number 3 is determined to fight.

She stands on her feet willing to bite.

Mouse number 4 cannot figure out a path.

Every direction seems to find a cat’s wrath.

Mouse number 5 wishes for it all to go away.
He does not seem himself as predator or prey.
Mouse number 6 intends a more creative approach.
Yelling back at the cat refusing to let her encroach.

Mouse number 7 plans a complicated game.

She intends to befriend the cat and to finally tame.

Mouse number 8 cannot figure out what to do.

He wishes for a small hole to climb through.

But mouse number 9 sees into the greater game.

And understood that the cat is old and a bit lame.

She saw that there is no need to fear what intends no harm.

And sensed that there is no need for any alarm.

That is how on that day … the cat and mouse number 9 discovered a new friend.
After all, that is the best way to make all conflicts end.

I look at my life and today I see the interesting connection between my husband and myself.
He is a rock and roll violinist, and I am a dancer.

As a dancer, my favorite instrument to follow was always a violin. Ballet is very structured around the string instruments, piano, and the flute. Obviously, in a symphony there are other instruments, but the lyrical sounds are often what pulls a dancer’s body into motion and flow.
I remember doing the Russian Dance in Swan Lake and it is a violin solo until the very end when everything comes together is a passionate ending. And then there is the quacking clarinet that is in Peter and the Wolf. Also a very fun sound to dance to.

But in general, violin and dance work well together.

I admire my husband’s skill and discipline that such a thing requires. I love the passion that he feels playing and his intricate knowledge of notes, music, and rhythm. I love how he can just spontaneously flow with a solo in the heart of the song.

Deep in our souls we are both deeply feeling, artistic, passionate, and lovers of the subtle in life.

I am grateful to have found him and recognize the great gift that he is to me in this life and at this very special time.
