Suzanne’s Personal Quote and Blog for 7/14/2022

Quote

The orange male tabby lays in the cool grass.

Kali watching from behind the door with sliding glass.
The mood is curious and wondering.

The male is cautious and pondering.

We live in a world that is interactive and fluid.

Nature holds the magic of a Druid.

Perhaps we can all learn to coexist in peace.

I look toward the day when all conflict will cease.

The Moon was amazing on the morning of the 14th. The fog was lazily flowing along the floor of the timbered valley below.
The colors of the sky were blue and pink as the morning light competed with the bright light of the Full Moon.

Coco came for her morning cuddles, and we listened to the ravens waking the forest up with their caws and clacking.
The Banded Pigeon sentry’s flew into the trees waiting to see the yellow seed bag that I would bring out promptly at 6 am for their morning breakfast.

But this morning I had an adoring cat in my lap and one that refused to budge. Her head dropped across my arm as we watched the morning awaken. She closed her eyes and rested, knowing that she was safe and protected in my arms in this precious moment.
Then she would look up to see if I was still there, with those calm and peaceful eyes, roll over and show me her belly that wanted to have a rub. And the eyes would close again. In that moment we would be in that timeless place where nothing needed to be done.

In such moments, she is a completely normal cat. All her nervous hissing patterns are gone. Her feral behavior evaporates, and her personality is clearly vulnerable and longing to have human connection and care. We all have behaviors that painfully announce themselves when we are nervous, unsure, or out of our element.

But when we feel safe, those things naturally fall away and what remains is our best self and the place where we can just be and feel that we are enough.
