Suzanne’s Personal Quote and Blog for 8/26/2022

Quote

Under the leaves the salamander sits.

Hidden in the cracks of wood where she fits.

She is colorful and long with short stubby legs.
The color of the redwood trees and the madrone barks shaves.

I see she has left some eggs on a twig.

Milky white lying next to the sprig.
She does not move and waits to see what is next.

She seems calmly aware and not vexed.

She looks at me with those dark eyes.

I sense intelligence and a bit of surprise.

I lay the leaves back down to leave her in peace.

To the cool earth she disappears becoming my conversation piece.

The weather is cooling off and I am slightly better each day.

The Hummingbirds have not yet left or gone on their way.

I love hearing the sound of their wings.

Their chirps and clicks are such amazing things.

I will miss them when they are gone.

But I usually have two that will continue to hang on.

They never seem to leave and have decided this is a very good place.

And they are always welcome here in this time and space.

Without the nature that shows only the truth.

I am sure we would never rekindle our youth.

We need to wonder and be amazed with life.

And step away from so much of humanities strife.

I continue my preparations for the Ireland trip. Grateful that the headache happened here rather than there.

This moment has caused me to remember the dancing days when I was so thin. And food was so essential that I often felt as if I as constantly at the edge of starving.

It was not a pleasant sensation then nor was it during this round of headaches when I could not keep anything down. Feeling like one may not be able to walk is not a good feeling.
It is amazing how fast one thing can tear us down and stop all things that are in motion.

But it reminds us that we are all very fragile and that life is very fragile. While our soul and spirit can be incredibly strong, the body can quickly collapse under the right circumstances.

In truth, all of us will eventually die.

I don’t see this as a problem because I am sure all of us have died many … many times.

Birth and death are the karmic laws of this place. One thing dies and feeds another.

Hopefully those things that we leave behind are powerful supports for those we love and those that love us.

May your day be filled with the cooling air.
Look at the darkening light … and as the sun goes down … stare.

Let the life within you find peace.

Never let the negative forces out there cause you to cease.

Be the light that you came to explore.

Listen to the wind and never ignore.

Those whispers that call to you to embrace this moment.

And allow in all the angelic bestowment.
