Suzanne’s Personal Quote and Blog for 9/15/2022

Quote

Never let go of a child’s wonder and delight.

Always explore what comes out at night.

Listen to the owls that watch in the trees.

Discover the whispers that dance on the breeze.

Nature is filled with surprise and insight.
Remember to smile more and let go of all fright.

Allow what used to be … to inspire things that are yearning to become.
Never feed the illusion that life is hum-drum.

We have made it to Ashford Castle. What an amazing place. I can’t imagine what it has taken to refurbish and modernize an 800-year-old castle.

The grounds are massive, beautiful, and unique. The lake has 365 small islands. One for each day of the year. (I will be going out on a boat today to visit some of them)

The rooms are redone and because of the massively high ceilings, they have been able to lift up the floor in the bathrooms and make heated floors.

My room is a beautiful Irish green. It looks out onto the lake and is something to behold.

We are here for 2 days. We got here last night and walked the gardens and grounds. Around every corner was another beautiful thing, garden, tree, statue, or tower.

It could take a week to explore all the secret spaces and places.

Today is going to be a full day. They have an award-winning spa, so that is first on my list of things to do today. I am getting a Deep Tissue Massage and a Facial. I am so excited for a pamper day!

The day starts with breakfast in the main dining hall. And then I signed up to help walk the dogs at 8:15 am. They are Wolf Hounds, which are huge. That just sounds fabulous!

Then off to the spa. Lunch in the Tearoom and a boat ride to some of the islands. Ending with dinner at the George the 5th Dining room.

Then we will be leaving to continue our journey around Ireland. But this place cannot help but leave an impression. What an experience!

On one level I am exhausted from walking so much but on another level … I am anxious to see and explore what is around the next corner.
