Quote
I am off to the motherland of my ancestors of old.
Those Irish explorers left their home and pot of gold.
To find the freedom that another country could provide.
They walked away from starvation and those that had died.
They took a risk by sailing across the sea.
And discover what they hoped would be a land of plenty.
My ancestors at first struggled to fit in.
Not unlike any family who immigrated to begin.
They worked on the railroads, a hard and dangerous job.
They were told they were not wanted and that they were a slob.
But they worked hard and worked across the land.
Until they found a place they could expand.
And when they did, they settled right in.
With lots of hard work and taking it on the chin.
They became the sheriffs that governed the land.
And became the law and order when things got out of hand.
Now a century later I am going to see where my ancestors roamed.
And feel into the lineage that my soul calls home.
I am so excited to explore the forests of Wicklow.
And drink a pint in the pubs of Silgo.
Perhaps I will find parts inside that I did not know.
Perhaps my ancestors will tell me where to go.
I wish to marvel at this beautiful land.
And feel my soul heal as I walk on the strand.

My bags are packed and I am ready to go.
Off to the doctors appointment today for my yearly physical.
It has taken only 4 months to get an appointment!
It seems that just getting simple things … like blood work is a huge problem.
Our medical system is so broken on so many levels.
I am sure it is going to have to get worse before something changes.
That is because of the complacency that continues to infect this country.
That is something I never thought in a million years would happen here.
But the bad behavior of so many throughout this serious crisis and pandemic has pushed the medical staff to the limits. It has pushed a breaking system off the cliff.
If doctors, nurses, and medical staff can quit, change jobs, or retire, they will.
Even my sister (a doctor) has had enough.
While I support people having the right to choose, I don’t believe that those same people have the right to abuse medical personal trying to do their jobs. The collapse of many systems is on their shoulders, and we also have to blame the terrible political position that we are currently experiencing.
A house united stands … a house divided falls.
And many things seem to be falling apart because of the continued lies that are being perpetuated by those in power that they use to manipulate the masses to work against their own needs, wants, and desires.
It shocks me the verbal and mental “song and dance” that some do that makes them work against the issues that they so desperately need.
They end up handing the money they need for improving their status back into the hands of the politicians so those same politicians can take it for themselves to get richer while the middle class collapses.
Regardless, I am going to enjoy going on a vacation. I hope to find places where nature heals, life is renewed, and a better perspective will bring in new insights and clarity.
