Suzanne’s Personal Quote and Blog for 9/20/2022

Quote

The Skellig Islands loom starkly in the distance.

A reminder of another time of challenge and subsistence.

The skies so blue that reflects the joy of Irish music and art.

The grass so green like the eyes of the Irish heart
The girl on the bench with the flaming red hair.

Is the epitome of why foreigners are mesmerized and stare.
We are captivated by what is different and new.
We see a part of ourselves in all things that we pass through.
In a smile … there passes truth between each of us.

Too often in such moments, communication is superfluous.

Laugh with a joy that comes from deep within.

Listen to the tingles underneath your skin.

Live a life that cherishes moments in time.

Let the wind and sun remind you of the sublime.

Yesterday we made our way through Dingle (the cutest town in the world) and then back to Kenmare to the Sheen Falls Lodge.
This is our home base for the next 3 days, so we have time to do laundry and land for a bit.
Today, we will go off to see the Ring of Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is a scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula in southwest Ireland’s County Kerry. Its 179km-long, circular route takes in rugged and verdant coastal landscapes and rural seaside villages. In the distance we can see Skellig Michael, a rocky island with an abandoned 7th-century Christian monastery.
The scenery here is non-stop beauty and a patchwork quilt of stone walls, grassy green spaces, darker bog places, stunning oceans vistas, and the smiling faces of the Irish.

Yesterday, (because of Sharon – our driver) I tried the brown bread ice cream in Dingle. OMG! How good is that? I now have all these new ideas to try and create once I get home.
Everything from goat cheese sandwiches with walnuts and cranberries, to Irish brown bread, and then to potato fluff.

What is potato fluff you ask? You take whipped mashed potatoes and then put it in those canisters that make whipping cream. You know the ones with the gas canisters and then infuse the potatoes with the gas and that makes the lightest creamy potato puree to enjoy.
My mind is enchanted by the new possibilities that are right at my fingertips.

Sharon even gave me a gift of two of the brown bread mixes at the stores here with the Treacle (which is a sort of black strap molasses, which gives the brown bread its distinctive color and sweet taste).
I am so excited! I can’t wait to get home and make some.
Remember you are never too old to learn. It is never too late to travel. It is never too late to make new friends. And it is always wise to dream.

There is a Rapunzel Tower in this gorgeous place as we traveled towards Dingle that I want to buy.
While that may be impossible. Why not dream a little. Someone from Scotland bought it and refurbished it.
I wish I could see the inside. Rounded walls. Perfect location. What an Air B & B that could become!

But I can dream and pretend. Why not. Anything is possible if we allow the universe to show us the path if it is our destiny.

Perhaps in another time into the future light.

I can experience even more wonder and delight.

But this life might be hard to beat.

It has been filled with soft pillows and black peat.

Both are so sensual and bring us back home.

Even when I am so tired … in my dreams I still roam.
