1 + 8 = 9

The number 9 brings a sense of resolution and a feeling of things coming full circle. I love how the number 9 and the number 6 are the reverse of each other. Together they seem to form the Yin/Yang symbol of the Chinese mythology. Together they are that metaphor of balance between the spiritual world and the material reality.

While the number 6 is more of the ascetic spiritual path where one removes oneself from the trappings of society in order to know ourselves. The number 9 asks us to take those spiritual truths that we have discovered and asks us to move them out of the caves and monasteries and instead implement them into the real world.

Spiritual truths are wonderful and illuminating but eventually we have to see that when those truths become a core expression of our being, help us navigate the external reality, and become a part of our stability in this world … that is when it is clear that we cannot keep them to ourselves and that we must go out into the world and share the wisdom we have currently gathered because it is only by testing those tools in the external world that we will discover if they have the merit and ability to stand the test of time.

I find it interesting that the spiritual paths in life seem to have association with the masculine element when the physical world is connected to the feminine. What is clear with the number 6 and the number 9 is that in the Yogic system of numerology (notice I am being very specific) indicates that the even numbers are masculine and the odd numbers are feminine. And this is clearly reflected in this construct of the Yin and the Yang. The Yin is the feminine element, and the Yang is the masculine. But to be complete we need to learn to incorporate both sets of lessons and all the tools in order to have balance inside our core.

With the number 9, it is a reminder that with this feminine, odd number, it is there to help us find that the doorways to completion in this realm using the intuitive guidance of the Divine Feminine. Only then can we free ourselves from the trappings of the mind and are willing to bring them into balance with earth and our responsibilities to this time and place will we finally be freed from the traps of karma and reincarnation.
