12/4/2024 is the number – 15
1 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 15
1 + 5 = 6

Today is the Number 6, and it calls to us from the whispers of our deepest inner selves. We long for a moment of peace and solitude. We long to get away from it all. But it seems that a long moment of tranquility is not really possible at this moment before the holidays.

While it feels as if there is just too much to do right now, we can take those momentary pauses and sit with a cup of hot cocoa and watch the snow fall or a sunset.

While having a monastery to go be in silence is an excellent idea. Most of us don’t have the time or the ability to do such a thing at the moment.

That is why I remember something a teacher told me a long time ago, “Life is the greatest mediation! You have to learn how to meditate often in controlled places and environments. But eventually you have to learn to walk through life and observe it calmly like you are in a meditation. Once you can do that, you are free from the chaos of life that will constantly try to pull you off center. One cannot master the world if you cannot first master yourself.”

The Number 6 day is a day to practice that art of self-mastery. Every small step helps in the evolution of awareness, compassion, and mental discipline. Each moment is an opportunity to practice and to reclaim your center. The more you practice, the faster you can reclaim that center when needed. And that is a very good skill to have in our current world.
